How long does it run at night, on the battery alone?

About 58 hours, spending 1.5 kW an hour on the 87.3 kWh the battery gives up. Switch a machine off in the list above and the figure changes with it.

Does it still need the mains electricity?

By day, no: at midday the sun carries the whole house and 34 kW of the inverter is still free. No electricity needed until the morning: the battery lasts 58 hours.
